The Official Red Book
Published annually since 1947, A Guide Book of United States Coins, known popularly as the Red Book, is the single most valuable reference book available on U.S. coins. For more than half a century, the Red Book has been first-to-hand among coin collectors, investors, and just about anyone wanting to know something about their old U.S. coins. Listed inside are pictures, descriptions, mintage figures, and approximate values of every official U.S. coin struck as currency by the United States Mint(s) since 1793, from half cents all the way to $50 gold slugs. In addition, there are sections on U.S. Colonial Coins, struck before the U.S. Mint was established in 1793, and wild west era gold coins struck in California prior to the establishment of the San Francisco Mint in 1854. The Red Book even has sections on U.S. error coins, tokens, and U.S. coin grading. Although packed with useful and fascinating information, it doesn’t carry a hefty price tag, and is certainly one of the best book values you’ll ever find on the topic of U.S. coins. I peek at my own well-worn copy for some piece of information almost every day! Highly recommended! A Guide Book of United States Coins |
